Danach berührt die Brettach erstmals rechtsseitig das Gebiet der Gemeinde Gerabronn, deren Hauptort auf der rechten Hochebene liegt. Die Grenze zwischen Gerabronn und Rot am See verläuft von hier bis fast nach Bügenstegen stets unweit der Brettach, jedoch mit seitlichen Ausschlägen zuweilen bis hinauf auf die Talhöhen. Das Tal ist inzwischen über 30 m gegen die umgebenden Höhen eingetieft, und ab hier sind auch die beiderseitigen Talhänge fast durchgehend bewaldet. An der rechten, nördlichen Seite setzt sich der Wald über die Hangschulter hinweg zum ersten größeren Waldstück am Lauf der Brettach fort, dem Waldgewann Hochholz, in dem ein Wildgehege liegt.
